A RESOLUTION COMMENDING CLARA NELL MANCIL FOR SERVICE TO HER COMMUNITY AND PROFESSION, AND CONGRATULATING HER UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT.
WHEREAS, Clara Nell Mancil is retiring after a 46-year career in banking; and
WHEREAS, Clara Nell Mancil has served as the local banker in Richland for the past 34 years; and
WHEREAS, Clara Nell Mancil's banking expertise and rapport with the people of the community has earned her the trust and respect of the people in her community; and
WHEREAS, Clara Nell Mancil has risen through the ranks to become First Vice-President and Manager of the Richland Branch of Trustmark National Bank in the City of Richland; and
WHEREAS, Clara Nell Mancil began her career in banking with the Deposit Guaranty National Bank in 1952; and
WHEREAS, Clara Nell Mancil served with First Mississippi National Bank from 1965 to 1979; and
WHEREAS, Clara Nell Mancil has served at Trustmark National Bank since 1979; and
WHEREAS, Clara Nell Mancil will end her service in the banking community on February 26, 1999, when she will retire; and
WHEREAS, Clara Nell Mancil's commitment to her community is evidenced by her service to numerous charitable and service organizations in which she has held positions of leadership; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of her business acumen, Clara Nell Mancil has served in a variety of positions on the Richland Economic Development Association, the Richland Water and Sewer District, the Rankin County Chamber of Commerce and the Financial Women International (FWI); and
WHEREAS, Clara Nell Mancil has also served as a Director of the Rankin County Cancer Society, County Treasurer and Community Chairman of the Rankin County Heart Association and Section Chairman for the United Way; and
WHEREAS, Clara Nell Mancil is committed to improving the education of the children of her community serving as President, Vice-President and Treasurer of the Richland School PTA and the Rankin Academy Patrons League; and
WHEREAS, Clara Nell Mancil is an active and dedicated member of the Richland United Methodist Church where she has served as a Sunday School teacher and as Secretary to the Administrative Board; and
WHEREAS, she is married to William Carl (Billy) Mancil and they have two children, Sherri Mancil and Scot Mancil, and two grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Mississippi Senate to commend the dedicated service of the citizens of the state:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSISSIPPI SENATE, That the Senate does hereby commend the dedicated service of Clara Nell Mancil to her community and profession, and extend congratulations upon the occasion of her retirement and wish her continued success in her endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy be presented to Clara Nell Mancil and her family, and copies be made available the Capitol Press Corps.
